Cricket May 2021
4th Class have been really enjoying cricket lessons with Cricket Leinster.
Most of the students in the class had never played cricket before so this was a brilliant chance to learn a new sport and a new set of skills. The class have been practising their throwing and catching skills to learn how to bowl and how to field. They have hit wickets for target practice and challenged themselves at batting. Thank you to our fantastic coach Jim Stewart for organising the lessons and making them fun for the class. They have looked forward to the lessons each week. We hope to keep practising and try out cricket again!

Hurling Blitz
Last Thursday, the boys hurling team played a blitz on the Stepaside Astro Pitch against Our Lady's Boys and Carysfort N.S. We lost the first match to Our Lady's Boys and won our second match against Carysfort N.S. We had great fun at the blitz and it was a great experience.

Girls Gaelic Season 2017/2018
30th January 2018
The football season ended last term. Well done to all the girls, from 4th to 6th Class, who really did the school proud. They showed excellent team spirit and fantastic commitment throughout.

The camogie season is now upon us and we look forward to the training sessions and matches in the coming months.
Our Girls Gaelic Football Team
11th October 2017
Our Lady of the Wayside NS has a hard- working girls Gaelic Football team. At the start of this year we chose our captain, vice- captain and assistant captain. We train on Tuesdays after school, we have our matches on Wednesdays and we also train during lunchtime on Thursdays. We have been training very hard. Our Assistant Captain is Hannah. Unfortunately, we lost our first match against a team from Clondalkin. We won our second match against a team from Tallaght. We also won our third game against a team from Clondalkin. We are also lucky enough to have reached the quarter finals against a team from Perrystown. We have yet to play this match but we are hopeful for a win. We are really hoping to get to Croke Park this year as we had a really close defeat last year when we lost by one point in the Semi-Final. We are very proud of the team and we thank our coaches Ms. Gibson and Ms. Annett for putting in so much time and effort for the team.
Signed:
Bláithín (captain)
Danielle (vice-captain)
